History

Giant Oil, Inc., has built a strong foundation on the belief that hard work, determination and a conviction in one's self will produce growth and success.

Giant Oil was founded by owner Basem Ali. It originally began in 1995 as a venture in the real estate market. Opportunities arose, and in 1997 Giant acquired its first group of sites, becoming a distributor for British Petroleum (BP). Before long, the company was established as a multi-branded, multi-state petroleum jobber.

Successful acquisitions in Florida have made Giant one of the largest petroleum jobbers in the state, with sites from the Miami waterways to the Florida-Georgia border.

Giant’s prototype was developed to capitalize on today’s trends in the convenience store business specifically targeting the customer’s needs. This milestone location, a 4,000 sq.ft. site, includes our onsite eatery “B. Fly Café” and Giant’s in-house convenience store brand, “Voom”. This venture has brought continued success to Giant’s portfolio, enabling us to offer alternative branding options to our customers.

Another milestone for the company was our strategic move into the state of Ohio in 2007. Several large acquisitions in both the Akron/Canton and Dayton/Springfield areas have continued the company’s notable expansion and success.
